Whilst many feared that the classical guitar was turning into a peripheral instrument in the Netherlands, the Dutch Guitar Foundation created a place for the biggest guitar happening in the country – the Groningen Guitar Festival & Competition. Over the last years, this event has turned into an international phenomenon: several students, competitors and renowned artists from all over the world have joined one or more editions of the Groningen Guitar Festival & Competition.

From the 19th until the 24th of February, Groningen will become the center of the guitar world once again. During the next Groningen Guitar Festival & Competition, guitarists, luthiers and guitar lovers will gather to join Masterclasses, Concerts, the Competition, the GuitarEXPO and other guitar events. All of this will take place in the well-known friendly atmosphere of Groningen, where the highest guitar quality and the deepest guitar love meet!
