2nd Guitar Concerto Competition & Festival
Competition
With its distinct structure and style, Guitar Concerto Competition emphasises the genre of solo concerto. Candidates are required to perform parts of a guitar concerto they selected in every round: Solo Cadenza in the First Round and an entire movement (with an accompanist!) in the Semi Finale. However, 4 finalists will have a spectacular opportunity to perform the entire concerto with DGF Orchestra in Grande Finale, under the baton of Dimitris Spouras. Obligatory concerti we’ve chosen for this year are Manuel Maria Ponce’s festive Concerto del Sur and immortal Guitar Concerto of Heitor Villa-Lobos.
Which one will you choose?
Guitar Concerto Competition is open to all candidates, regardless of their nationality, age and background. Take a look at the exact competition Program & Rules below and let us know if you have any questions!
